Goodbye Pluto in Leo, hello Pluto in Aquarius
As Pluto prepares to spend 20 years in Aquarius, the legacy of the Pluto in Leo era might be on its last legs
Finally Pluto is in Aquarius, woohoo! Power to the people! Age of Aquarius 🎶 Freedom! Revolution! Progress! Humanity is finally going to conquer space and we’re gonna have spaceships and time vortexes and telekinesis and…
NOT SO FAST YOU GULLIBLE SOUL!
First of all, Pluto is going to make one last dance in the last degree of Capricorn later this year. Apparently he left some unfinished business there. What could it be?
Second of all, Pluto in Aquarius may not be the relief everyone is desperately craving for after 16 challenging years of Pluto in Capricorn. I mean, come on folks, Aquarius and Capricorn are not so different. They are both winter signs, both ruled by Saturn. Need I say more?
Pluto in Capricorn brought to the surface the rot in society’s Saturnian affairs. Pluto in Aquarius will continue poking the festering Saturnian rot, though from a new angle.
The big ending, I believe, are reserved for the legacy of the Pluto in Leo era. What was Pluto in Leo all about?
The golden age of Hollywood and cult of celebrity and show-business;
The cult of the fancy lifestyle, what a brand new car, a nice house in the suburbs with picket fence surrounding a garden whose grass was impeccably cut;
The glorification of materialism and fashionability of narcissism;
The rise of the magic box (also known as Television);
The post World-War II world order;
And, last but not least…
The Baby Boomers;
Aquarius is the opposite (and also deemed as the complementary ) sign of Leo.
And just as Pluto in Capricorn marked the end of many Pluto in Cancer themes - such as the concept of nation states (Globalism has won), the preservation of races (especially the European ones), the traditional family (under relentless attack), traditions in general (the rejection and suppression of traditional customs) and the ancestors (desecration of monuments and erasure of history) - we might see Pluto in Aquarius bringing an end to many of the traces resulting from the Pluto in Leo era.
I believe there’s plenty of reasons for us to believe that might be the case. Considering that…
Hollywood is falling more and more into the oblivion of irrelevance, either as a consequence of the multiple sexual scandals that have tarnished the industry’s image, or due to the death of Television and rise of social media (and its hordes of influencers).
The cult of celebrity might have its days numbered too. Not only are the new generations of entertainers (be it actors, musicians, TV personalities) less and less charismatic and less talented we also have to take into account the rise of AI. Who needs a Scorcese, when we can generate the next blockbuster movie through a simple AI prompt? Who needs a Brad Pitt or a Meryl Streep where we can simply generate AI Replikas who can perform as well, if not better than the former without demanding and exorbitant salary without the need for rest, thus making it possible for the new AI-generated movie stars, to feature in multiple films, series, music clips, adverts art once?!
The fancy lifestyle is also becoming thing of the past. What’s that? You want a nice house in the suburbs? Good luck affording it. Might as well just come to grips with living in a pod in a megacity. What do you need a new suit for? When you can just rent one from the local franchise store. Besides, do you really need to dress nice to work from home or to attend virtual dates? Want a new sports car? Think about the carbon footprint!
What’s the point of materialism if you’re supposed to own nothing and be happy?
As for Narcissism, do you really have any reasons to worship yourself and your own physique, after you have become a shapeless blob of fat, from all the seating and all the microplastics? Also, no matter how cute and sexy you think you look, there’s always someone hotter and who garners way more clicks on social media. And that someone is probably AI generated, so you might as well give it up…
The post World-War II world order doesn’t really exist anymore to be honest. With the decadence of the old continent and the rise of China and other Eastern powers, even the fall and rise-again of Russia, the Pax Americana may not live much longer. Also, if World War III breaks out, then a new world order shall unfold, and replace the old one for good.
And… Last but not least, the death of the Baby Boomers. Regarded by many as the most spoiled and narcissistic and obnoxious generation (Millenials coming close second) this is a generation who might not be as mourned as their predecessors. It is known that nowadays, society is more fragmented than ever: man vs women, whites vs non-whites, left vs right, atheists vs religious, primitivists vs modernists, etc… But if there is one issue that seems to be truly bi-partisan is the resentment towards the Baby Boomers. It is often manifested in the guise of contempt or downright hatred.
Some final remarks
Well, I hope you managed to make it this far. As we have seen, many aspects of our contemporary life have been the legacy of the Pluto In Leo era, from our Boomer parents/grandparents to the sociopolitical diktat and the silly adulation of celebrities that appear on TV. Pluto is often associated with destruction. And Pluto in Aquarius might bring forth the destruction of the Pluto in Leo themes through Aquarian means, be it technology, social movements or major shifts in the collective mentality.
With other heavyweights shifting signs in the upcoming year(s), we shall see what the future reserves for us…
